How come in windows I can just drag and drop files on to my DVD.In apple I have to go through a burning process Why is that?

For data DVDs you can, in fact, drag and drop the files you want burned, then burn the disc, in Mac OS X. In Windows, versions prior to Vista did not have built-in support for this. Note: Even in Windows, you have to tell Windows to burn the disc to actually write the files. Dragging and dropping does NOT write files to the disc, regardless of whether you are using Mac OS X or Windows.
