We knew it was going to happen. And we knew it was only because they didn't want to pony up the $$$ to the rumble crowd after losing their law suit.

But yay! the consumers win in the end, and lets just hope they release 'rumble' patches for older games so we can enjoy them too. Motorstorm with rumble would be great, finally get to feel that terrain rather than passivly watch it. As long as they don't charge for 'rumble' as a micro-transaction of course.

^Indeed MRU, everyone wanted it and they listen for a change...good job on there behalf. Now I want to see how much they will charge us for these rumble controllers...come on Sony don't kill your existing PS3 owners wallet.

I'll definitely get one....hope they fix the sticking issue the SIXAXIS have...it annoying.

    Bless

Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for these controllers to hit the market.

The extra bit of weight in the controller will be nice too. They are a bit too light as they currently are, and yeah the sticking of the triggers is a pain.

I'll be buying one of these new controllers as soon as they are released.

Do you think they are going to redesign the controller, as well? That's the one thing that I really don't like about the PlayStaion...the controller doesn't feel good in my hands.

According to IGN the controller looks exactly the same, it is just heavier and rumbles.

    Compatability List

    Here's the bad news folks

In light of its official announcement that rumble will be returning in the DualShock 3 next year, Sony Computer Entertainment has released a full compatibility list showing which titles (new and old) will be supporting the long-awaited feature.

And then the good (well at least for USA & Europe, Japan seemingly left in the cold)

Note: Pre-existing titles will be updated via software prior to the release of the new controller.

Here's the problem to me with this whole rumble deal:

Are you gonna go back and play some game you never tried just because "oMg! tH3 RUmbLE!!!"? Adding to some older games, like motorstorm, makes sense because they are still popular online games. But already people are bitching that game x doesn't get rumble, Does every game now need it? You played it just fine without it!

Like me. And I guess I will not be buying an extra controller for my soon to be purchased, PS3, until the DualShock 3 comes out.

I was thinking about grabbing another PS3 controller, but now I have much less reason to do so until this is released.

Now for keep waiting for some good multiplayer games, too…

I was just watching the 1UP Show and they mentioned that when they played MGS using the Dual Shock 3 the rumble on the controller would come from the direction it would on screen. That sounds pretty crazy surround rumble. :)
