Burnt charging port?

Hi guys I've just had a look at my Magsafe charging port on my 2013 MBA and it looks as if its been burnt! Any ideas if this is the case and how it could have happened??

Try taking the magsafe board out and cleaning it, most of it might come off. It did for me

Looks like dirt/dust.

brush it out and clean up with a Q-tip and alcohol

how it could have happened??

The Macsafe connector is of close tolerance meaning dirt can act as resistor making the connector into a mini toaster. CLEAN it.

That's just dirt, not a burn. Most used Macbooks look like that.

Dust and crap that's been stuck on from the magnet. Should be about to clean 90% of that off.

Take off the back cover and remove the magsafe board and clean it properly, takes about 15 mins from start to finish...
