This is pretty blatant advertising. At least tell us how CardSnap doesn't rely on OCR and why it's different. As of now you're just dissing everyone else and then saying, "Get cardsnap!"

Looks to me like CardSnap does it server side rather then on the iPhone

Cardreader

I found another Business Card Scanner: "Cardreader" does it's job very well...

Well, I have owned cardsnap for 6 months now. I have the griffin clarify case but you can also get one of those little lens magnifiers at radio shack.. it works AWESOMELY>

It takes about 10 minutes MAX for your card to be uploaded and ready. I also have GROUP HUG installed to create groups for my contacts on my iphone.. and then, cardsnap came out with an update that let me automatically put all contacts from cardsnap into one group..

So now i have a group called Business Cards and all of my business cards/networking contacts are separate from my personal stuff. It definitely is a great application.. and no, i am NOT a developer.. just a VERY happy user.

how about try WorldCard Mobile

Well, just give you other option. WorldCard Mobile focuses on BCR(Business Card Recognition) and use iPhone camera to capture business card.

Just take 5s and you can get the detail info in your contacts. In addition, after recognition, it allows to export the information to any desired contact group under contact. Sort the contact information according to its category and put into the field it belongs to, such as name/ company info/ number/ email/ URL/ address, easy for user to read and edit.

WorldCard Mobile App has been updated! Here are some features that I have found

Automatic Camera Shake Reduction- To capture an image without losing the focus. A similar feature found on digital camera

Email Signature Capture – To copy electronic signature and add it to your iPhone contact lists

Improvement of Recognition Accuracy –

Also: WorldCard Mobile and Contacts are the only business card reader app working with iOS4 so far.

Buisness Card Reader, Cardreader, Camcard all fail to support iOS4.

So I found this application called ScanCard http://xmscan.wordpress.com/2012/07...n-version-is-0-99-noworiginal-price-was-5-99/

Thought I'd chime in as I just went through the process of finding the right app for me.

My criteria were a good interface, good recognition, and a "card holder" solution to manage the contacts separately from the iPhone contacts. I don't want to mix my numerous business contacts with my private contacts.

I tried:

- CamCard
- SamCard
- WorldCard Mobile
- ScanBizCards

In the end, I decided on WorldCard Mobile, because it seems to have the most accurate recognition software. I have to make very few corrections to the scanned data, it even does a fair job with "unconventially formatted" business cards! The UI is fine, easy to use, though not the best one out there (see below).

It was a close battle with CamCard. I actually preferred CamCard's user interface and the convenient "Notes" page for each contact. But I had to make way more corrections to the data in CamCard after scanning, so WorldCard Mobile ended up being the winner.

ScanBizCards did an okay job recognizing the contact info, not stellar though, and I hated the UI. SamCard only saves to iPhone contacts, so that one was out of the race real quick.

Sidenote: I did not try CardMunch, simply because I don't want to be tied to linkedIn, and I don't want all my business contacts to be uploaded to their server.
