Business data plan for iphone

So,

I get my palm from work - it has a 3g sim card inside but I don't know what kind of data plan I have. I know I can use unlimited data and have unlimited texts.

Is there anyway I can get an iphone and use the data plan I have? My company doesn't support Iphones yet and I'm scared of getting an Iphone and using the data and suddenly my bill will be insane.

Any ideas?

I would think that when you activate the iPhone it would switch you data plan, but I could be wrong.
