I would like to buy a iPad book for my wife as a gift. I just remember seeing while in iTunes you can click on a song or album and send it as a gift to someone.

Can you do this with iBooks for iPad?

Also, while browsing on my MBP I don't see the iBooks section for iPad all I see is Audiobooks.

Currently, the only way to browse and buy iBooks is to use the iBooks app on an iPad/iPhone/iPod touch. You can't browse/buy from a computer. Also, I just checked iBooks on my iPad, and I don't see a "gift" button. Sorry. :(

Not quite the same, but you can get someone a gift card. I think there is an "iBooks" gift card, which is really just a iTunes gift card with a picture of a book on it. It works like a regular iTunes card, that is, you can use it to buy anything from the iTunes store, plus anything from the iBooks store.
