I bought a phone from the local store online and they delivered it for $9 in like an hour. Amazing times we live in.

It’s just a gig worker delivering $50 worth of groceries and a couple of lunch orders in the their trunk with your $1,300 iMac.

"I'd like to order a loaded Mac Studio Ultra, an Apple ASD and give me... uhhhhhhhhhhh... pastrami on rye." ;)

"Why does your new Mac smell like egg salad?" ;)

"Introducing the new M3 MBpro... now with 40g of lean protein. We think you- and your flabby waistline- will love it." ;)

Hopefully if you're not home or they get the wrong address they don't leave it on your doorstep like Amazon! :)

Just put those Mac Pro wheels in a pillow case for your own vigilante protection!
But sir, how could I put my XDR Display down on the ground to fight off the attackers? For I did not have the additional funds required to purchase a stand...

But man, giving someone a whackin with a mac pro wheel in a sock would be intense, and a luxurious experience.

“Apple said its retail stores are also now able to sell out-of-stock items to customers that are delivered to their home at a later date”

So basically an Apple employee can help you order from an Apple Store like you would normally online. Wow it’s impressive that after all these years that’s finally an option!

I went to an Apple Store to purchase an Apple Watch and wanted to use the veteran discount. I was told it’s only available online, not at the physical store for reasons unknown 🤷‍♂️ So I ordered it online for pick up at the same exact store. I had to wait an extra 15 mins, neither myself nor the employees could believe Apple for such malarkey and inconsistencies.

This makes me wonder if the discounts offered for education/government would be available for purchase at an Apple Store, through this new easy pay online option. Knowing Apple I doubt it.

On that note regarding military and veterans from Apple:
Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) are not available as a payment type in this special storefront. Please visit an Apple Store location or the Apple Online Store if you wish to use ACMI at checkout. Please note that purchases made at an Apple Store location or through the Apple Online Store are not eligible for the discounted pricing available at this special storefront.

Only way to use ACMI is to pay full MSRP. Pretty whack that you can’t stack it with a discount

Yeah, it does seem crazy that they couldn't offer that to you in the store at that time. I'm guessing it has to do with how their purchase systems work and there's no way for them to administratively purchase the veteran discount option online and then hand the product to you in person due to two different stock accounting issues. Yes, from a human user perspective, it is a bit nutty.

Not sure what you mean but education discount is available when you purchase an Apple product in person at their stores. I've done it before.

A bit of ‘inside baseball’ on this process:

Veterans/Military eligibility is done via ID.me service, so when you select Shop for Veterans and Military, you’re directed to complete a verification using that service before being returned to the custom Veterans and Military storefront of Apple.com. In store, retail employees do not have to ability to complete that verification on their custom retail iPhone devices. Thus, military/veteran discount purchases con only be done at Apple.com, though you can select the option for in-store pickup.

Another little insight about this new ’Delivery’ option–it’s just the retail employee making the purchase via the website on their in-store iPhone device, with the regular corresponding delivery—no different than if you placed the order online yourself.

There is a good reason for that. A Veteran's Discount item has to be bought from the Veteran Discount pages of their web site and access requires authentication through id(dot)me. In order to access those pages in the store you would not only be going through password hell (especially if the customer has no clue what their ID and passwords are), but there is the issue of cookies on your personal device which are part of the password validation process which the store would not have access to.

If you want to go to store and use the veterans discount there is a trick. You go there, figure out what you want and tell the sales person and confirm they have it. Then they help you order it for in-store pickup online and choose whenever the website says a pickup time is an available. Doesn’t matter.

Then as soon as the system gives you a confirmation number, the salesperson can check their system and when it shows up in their system in a few minutes they can just get it for you. Your appointment doesn’t matter.

They did this for me. The next day I still got a reminder to pick up my item but I already had it. That’s just a bug in their system.

The studio display is a classic example of things not mattering until Apple does them. Every monitor has drawbacks and the SD has the least of any monitor I’ve used. Like honestly, monitors suck so bad these days. But because it isn’t perfect and it’s Apple… time for that to be the entire tech news cycle for a week.

The studio display is my favorite Apple product of all time. It’s a dream to use.
Agreed. Monitors suck. The SD is my favourite apple product hands down. Every day I just fall in love with it again.

Man they'd better be paying uber eats drivers some good money to pick up an iMac from the store and deliver it lol. I bought two of those this year for my brothers, and had the pleasure of carrying them from the store to my car in the parking garage. Luckily it was two trips a few weeks apart! Fun times lol.

It's funny, I'm the only person in my house not using an apple silicon mac yet. All intel lol. I do have plans to eventually get a mac studio and a 15" air (maybe) but, no need right now.

They aren't. Some of their drivers have shown their payment for Apple orders. It is not much higher than a regular restaurant run for them and they also can't even be tipped in the app like with those orders.
