Buy a new Mac with Lion preinstalled: may i install on old Mac ?

    Hi,
    if i buy a new Mac with Lion preinstalled may i install Lion on other Macs i've in my house for free ?
    How ? Simply inserting my Apple ID Account ?

    Technically no. If you buy the OS itself then yes you can install it on up to 10 machines with your ID. The new machine that comes with it preinstalled does not mean you can install the same way as if you bought the OS. At least, I'm pretty sure.

    Anyone can confirm that, for sure ?
    I've read that someday on August Lion will come also on hardware key, don't know if also in bundle with new mac ...

    The answer is most likely "no", but I'll share what happened to me anyway.

    I bought an iMac with Snow Leopard pre-installed. I requested Lion using the up-to-date program:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/

    I installed it on my iMac. Than I proceeded to install Lion on my wife's computer. When I clicked on "Buy App" in the App Store, it said I already purchased this product, so it will be a free download.

    anyone have anymore news about this?
    Is there some way to download the Lion installer on the a mac that has Lion preinstalled?
    i know my new Air came with free app store downloads of iLife, maybe Lion as well?
