Ugh... I am going to need a new phone. iPhone 6 is 100% dead from old water damage. And I don’t think I want to wait a week plus if I don’t have to.

If I got an iPhone 8 today, (Apple, Target, Best Buy) would any of those places price match after the (expected) price drop? I suppose many places have a 30 day return policy, but it seems obnoxious to return a perfectly good phone, when really I just want a discount.

If you’ve ever needed a new phone in early September, what did you do?

I want it today. If I have to order it on swappa, It’s just like waiting until next week’s Apple announcement. And then I have an old phone I need to try to sell that I don’t want.

Find something cheap locally on Craigslist and meet up at your nearest carrier store to verify the phone is legit.

I think Apple does price match if it’s within the return period.

I bought an iPhone 6s this week on a T-Mobile promo at the Apple Store. My previous phone also suffered from water damage. Apple has a 14-day return policy, so you could return anything you buy there if a partial refund discount isn’t offered.

Do you have AT&T? If so go buy a $50 iphone se then resell it on Craigslist after. You do have to buy a 30 card with it to tho. So $80 then you can probably sell it for that much online after.

Every major retailer I've ever dealt with will honor the lower price as long as it occurs during the return window. Otherwise, people would just return the device.

I crackd my iPhone SE screen a couple weeks ago. I've been waiting for a price drop so I can get the 8. I went to one of those mall kiosks to get my screen on the SE replaced and they made it WORSE. The battery drains to 16%, phone shuts off/restarts randomly. I bought the SE today and am gonna use it for the next 7 days and then I will return it to buy the iPhone 8.

Get a SE for cheap. Then keep it as a back up. Plenty online used super cheap and still a great phone.
