Buy ATV (4K - 64GB) or wait?

Is there a new Apple TV device coming out - or should I grab the ATV 4K, 64GB now?

Buy if you need it now; otherwise, hold off.

I still have a BNIB 32 GB that I bought from Craigslist for less than half the retail price after taxes a few months ago. I could sell it but don't see a replacement giving me anything I don't already have.

New Apple TV is definitely coming out, but the timing is unclear. Some sources think it is due any minute now, as soon as next week. But some sources think the release is pushed to iOS and tvOS 14 in the late fall.

Whenever that is, reliable sources point to new Apple TV having (1) faster processor (most likely A12X) for improved frame rate on games, (2) double the storage, and (3) redesigned remote control (maybe minor, maybe major, no one outside Apple knows).

Hopefully, there will be few additional improvements and features.

I dislike (as do many others) the current one, so I'd say to wait unless your current one is lacking something you really want. Chances are that you'll want to upgrade whenever the new one comes out. My guess is that it will be soon.

I echo the recommendation that if you need one now, buy it. If not, then I would certainly wait since it seems a new ATV is going to be announced/released.
