Hello,

I want to buy my first ever Apple Watch. Whatever version I buy, I want to use it for atleast 3 years. Should I wait for series 7 for potential newer features?

Thanks.

I would wait until after the keynote. You might like the S7 and if you don’t, then you can pick up a S6 at a discount.
100% agree. We’re a few weeks away from Apple event (likely in September), at this point waiting is worth, either if you get the S7 or a previous gen with a decent discount

I'm all about getting shiny new gadgets but at this point I would wait to see what the newest one offers. If it doesn't float your boat then you'll be able to score a nice deal on an older model.

For what it's worth, there are a couple retailers here in the U.S. (namely B&H) that are offering discounts on most S6 models. But definitely agree to wait until after the S7 is announced/released as you'll see deeper discounts on the S6 series if you want to save some money and don't want to go with the S7.

Amazon is selling the Series 6 40mm GPS in red for $319, and the blue and silver versions for $324. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen so far but some people think there might be even bigger discounts around Labor Day.

Got my S6 Red 40mm from Amazon US for $264 two weeks’ back (Discounted to $279 and “special deal” (“tick the box” additional $15 off). Loving it. So, if you find a great deal you may want to jump on it now but only if you won‘t regret whatever the S7 offers…

Definitely wait – you're only a few weeks away from seeing what the S7 has to offer and if you'd prefer that, plus you'll save a few more bucks due to more and more sales and lower prices after S7 details are made public.
