    Depends.
Steam usually have better multiplayer options, and you get both Mac and PC versions.
MAs doesn't require an app like steam running.

In Additionally, some of mac games were not released for Mac version on steam which included Windows though. First game of Borderlands were not sale for Mac on Steam for instance however I recommend you to purchase game on steam as long as possible. Some times They offer you discount on app store like steam does. Try to obtain cheaper, that would be best option ever.

I personally would do both of them. It mostly just depends on if you are more of a casual gamer or more of a hardcore gamer. Steam would be much better for hardcore gaming, as there are more FPS games and also more ways to play multiplayer. Really though, if you are wanting to do hardcore gaming, I would just get a PC. I know I know, I am recommending a PC on this forum, and I am not saying Macs aren't good for gaming, because they really are. They just don't have near as many games to choose from. I would personally just look at the steam website and see if there are any Mac games you would want. Good luck!

Steam/Mac App Store aren't the only choices. You also have macgamestore.com, gameagent.com, gamersgate.com, and gog.com to name the main ones I can think of. I generally do macgamestore and gog; I've used gamersgate once or twice.

Did GameAgent ever get rid of their terrible DRM? If not I'd stay away.
