Its possible? to use another cell operator, than at&t ?

I see the line in Apple Store website: For those who are not eligible for an early upgrade or who wish to buy iPhone as a gift, the prices are $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)

This gift is unlocked?

No iPhones sold officially in the US are unlocked, period. You can buy a 3G S online or from craigslist, and unlock it yourself using Redsn0w or Purplera1n and use it with any GSM carrier.

Nope. You'd have to go to one of several different countries to get an iPhone factory unlocked. Or eBay.

That is a no-contract price, and the phone is still locked to AT&T.

You can use Purplesn0w to unlock it though..

So, its make no sense... this price.... in any event have to sign at&t (bulllll)

Thanks for the answers!

I'm pretty sure you can't even buy just the phone from apple anymore without a contract, I think you have to get a contract.
