buy iphone 4 now, get free case, return if updated

think i can go and buy an iphone 4 now, order my free case, and if there happens to be a new phone in october, or even the white one, replace it and not worry about losing my free case?

also, has anyone had experience with upgrading their plan for another 2 yrs, and returning the phone, so does my plan go back to its normal, out of contract plan (been able to upgrade since april)?

You won't lose your case. And there an extremely slim chance of a new one, but you want to buy a black one and then exchange it for a white one if it becomes available? Shame. Just wait or get what you get.

Seems like a pretty selfish decision to me.
