If you buy it now, you get a free case. If you buy it after the 30th, you don't. Outside of that, there isn't really anything else to consider.

You can still get a free case after the 30th if you call AppleCare and request one.
There is a very low chance of a revised iPhone for AT&T. There is probably a better chance of the White iPhone showing up.

I should have reworded that. "There is a very low chance of a revised GSM iPhone before June of 2011."
In other words, the 2011 iPhone, you know the refresh that happens every year around the same time?
For someone who waited until now might as well wait another 15 days... unless you are desperate for a free case lol.

Now you're the one speculating.
My guess is that they're waiting for the quarter to end (Sept. 30th) so they can begin selling the white iPhone and boost sales numbers for the next quarter. Although I think demand has been greater than expected so they may wait until the Jan quarter to bust out the white one. A "White Christmas" advertising campaign can't be overlooked for a December release either. That doesn't seem like Apple's style though.
Yeah, they're just waiting to sell the White iPhone for next quarter. Huh?! It's been a production nightmare. If they could get it out right now, they would. Timing the launch of the white iPhone 4 has nothing to do with quarterly earnings and everything to do with manufacturing issues.
