Buy iPhone X online, exchange in store?

Hello,

I bought an iPhone X online - getting delivered next week. This is from the Canada store. I am clearly indecisive, and wanted to know if I can exchange in store for a different colour. I wouldn’t open the phone.

Can this be done given the supply constraints?

You can't get a color that isn't in stock.

You can not simply exchange it for a different color, they will have to return it and you will have to purchase the different color if they have it in stock or you'll have to order it online again.

If they have the color you actually want in stock, they will need to process as a return/exchange and repurchase the color you actually want.

Apple store and Apple online run as two separate businesses, order online you return online. If you go to the Apple store they will just ship it out for you but you won’t get another phone for it from the store.

That's not how it works. You can actually return apple online orders directly to the apple store near you. I've done this before and had no problems with this. At least in the U.S you can.

I preordered the iPhone X online and got it the first day. Went to the Apple Store to return it since I didn’t want the ATT next and paid in full. Then repurchased it. Worked for me. Only thing for the OP would be that they will have to have the color he is looking for available to get it that same day or he will have to wait until it’s in stock.
