Buy iPod Touch now or wait?

When I was looking at the Macrumors buying guide, I noticed that the iPod Touch is due for an update. Anyone think we will get an update soon?

IMHO, I think the refresh cycles will start to lengthen due in part to the economy.

If they were to be updated, count on April. Otherwise May-August is completely off limits due to the probable education promo (free iPod nano/touch with purchase of a Mac)

If I am not mistaken it has now been over a year since iPod Touch capacities have changed. I hope we will see more space and better battery life before September, but I am not optimistic.

Of course the second I buy one Apple will update the line.

The usual trend would be for a capacity bump but nothing else, roll on September for the 'real' upgrade.

Buy now, it's a cool thing to have, and you can always sell it on eBay and upgrade 🙂

They were last updated in Sept. 2008 and probably won't be upgraded until Sept. 2009. Battery life is pretty good unless you use WiFi a lot which kills the battery.

I would think full screen games would kill it a lot quicker than wifi?

Does anyone know if Leo LaPorte is about to buy one? That's usually the best sign of any kind of apple upgrade.😛
