buy MBP on tax free weekend?

So SC has tax free weekend on August 2-4. I need a new laptop and was looking to get a 13" mbp. Can't remember Apple's policy for exchanging a computer when a newer model is released within x days. I assume the announcement will not be in time but wanted to see if anyone knew the time frame for exchanging.

Check your state rules on this, I know many states put a cap on the tax free purchases (I believe it is $1,000 for computers in GA).

no cap in SC. limited to specific items, but not a price.
