I have the 15 inch 2011 Macbook pro... No problems here with my wireless, but I have a Netgear WNDR3700 which is a solid router that receives stellar reviews on all the major sites selling it.

On the other hand, my sister just bought a 13 inch 2011 Macbook Pro brand new from the Apple store, and it drops her wi-fi every 2 minutes. It's her first Mac, and I had to fight hard to convince her to buy it, unfortunately she will probably be returning it, and sticking with PC's... Too bad that her first Mac experience had to be such a bad one.

She has a router that was provided by her ISP and I suspect that's part of the problem, but who knows... I had ZERO problems using her laptop on my WNDR3700 here at the house, so I definitely think it only has to do with using certain models.

If you're worried - know this - Apple has in the past acknowledged problems with wi-fi on various devices (such as the ipad) and fixed it with a firmware update... It's safe to say this known issue will be fixed soon... And you can always buy a new router for your home network if the one you have doesn't work properly with your new MBP...

Go for it!

You're jacking someone else's thread about a totally different issue, and you're asking a question about something only the higher ups at Apple would know, way to go.

Buy now if you need it now, else wait, make a decision for yourself, people won't always be there to spoon feed you information all the time.
