So... I'm a college student in my senior year (also planning on Grad School) and i want to buy an iPad Pro for note taking so I don't have to lug around my notebooks all the time. I have a Macbook air 13" 2013 and soon an iPhone 7.

My question is... should I buy it now or should I wait? And which one should I get? I've used a 9.7 iPad for school before but gave up due to the poor stylus choices but now with the Apple Pencil, I feel like it could be really awesome. I'm a little reluctant to buy the 9.7 because it might still be too small to write well on it but reluctant to buy the 12.9 because it's just so big and heavy (combined weight of IPP and MBA = too much for class commute?).

Any other students or professionals using an IPP and what size do you recommend?

The 12.9 Pro is likely To be refreshed in the Spring. The 9.7 Pro won't be likely refreshed until September 2017, alongside the tenth anniversary iPhone, being it was released in March 2016.

I personally enjoy the size of the 9.7 iPad. I just can't justify the size of the 12.9 Pro, being in your case, it's going to be just as much as a burden to carry with the size versus your MacBook Air.

They both have similar functions and Apple Pencil Support. It's all about size preference at this point. I think the 9.7 Pro is your best bet with no refresh in sight for at least a year. Good luck.

My guess is the 9.7 Pro will get 2 Holiday Seasons Same as the Air 2 got 2 Holiday seasons launched October 14, 2014

Was not replaced until March 31st 2016 and still on sale.

If anything the 9.7 Pro will get 4GB RAM a new CPU, Dual Cameras, and a Solid Home Button. No need to remove the 3.5mm jack. Since I doubt it will get 3D Touch who knows.

3D Touch would be unlikely, being Cook said it is extremely difficult to incorporate onto a larger platform, more specifically a 9.7 Screen.

?... when do they get new models again? Air and Pro. Year and month would be nice.
