you mean they'd just give you money? that seems a little un-apple.
And nobody thinks there's a chance the MBP will be released with like an updated video card or something?
I'm in the same boat, but i could really use a new computer instead of waiting another 2 weeks and it'd be good to get the budgeting out of the way.
i think there is a 0% chance of an update. the latest models are just 45 days old or so. the 320m will probably even be in the next update since it is a special model for apple they will want to use more often, at least in the MBA.
maybe an preinstalled iLife 2010 update might happen?
but heck, it's just another week, i am waiting for it. whats a week in the grand scheme of things. if it saves me from an update to OSX 10.6.4 or so it would be worth the wait

no chance of any hardware updates on any laptop but the air. Which is still a great product by the way.

Buy now. The whole MBP line just got update. You know there is a "Buyer's Guide" section on this web-site.... It's the 3rd tab counting from right to right...
Updates and new models will always be on the horizon. The thing is you need to decide yourself. Whatever you buy now in 2 to 3 years it will be outdated compared to the latest products/technology at that moment in time, but I learned outdated doesn't necessarily mean the mac/pc wil not be able to do what you need it to do; web browsing/ office apps/ photo shop/etc.

Does anyone know if Apple allows people who bought their computer within say 14 days to upgrade the iLife/iWork suite for free if there is an update?
I don't think we'll see BD support on Apple products for awhile. Steve isn't big on it and it would kind of cut into Apple's streaming media push.
I think we'll see USB 3.0/LightPeak and other enhancements before BD support.

Last week I read a rumour that there may be some sort of announcement on 7 June from Mr Jobs involving the recent low-end 13 inch MacBook Pro. Coincidentally here in West Oz this week, major department stores have been discounting the same model. I'd wait until after next Monday.
