I can get the base model 21.5 for £389, should I get it? Should I care it's last years model?

Pretty good price. If you can live without USB3, a better GPU, and any of the other rumored enhancements in the 2012 model, you'd do well with that one.

Sounds like a bargain. You could have chosen a better username though - there's probably a forum rule that you've broken.
Hoping our US brethren don't recognise that word....

Hmmm, it's a great deal but USB3 would be nice.

Well, you have Firewire, so you may not need USB3 if you want something speedy attached like a disk drive. And as dirtyharry50 pointed out on another thread, it's possible that you don't really need speed from your USB peripherals if they're doing something low bandwidth like printing or something higher like disk access, but in the background.

For that much of a discount, it's totally worth it. I'd buy it if I were you.

Definitely buy at that price. Even if you don't want to keep it, you can probably sell it for more than you paid and then use the profit to put towards a new 2012 iMac when it comes out.

If you buy a refurbished model from the "Refurbished Mac" section of the store, you will have substantially less of a reason to have buyers remorse as those prices don't drop that quickly nor do those models disappear when the new ones come out. Plus you're paying less for the same stock models that you'd otherwise pay more for to have new. Just a thought.

It's not ********, it's from a local reseller who's closing down who I know personally. I can also get the high end 27'' i7 at 50% discount...which I may well do instead.

So no-one seems bothered that these are 2011 models?
I think the general consensus is that at that price, they're a good grab...2011 models are still extremely viable computing options.

Personally, I would get it. I can live without USB3.0 and the new graphics card for at least a few more years (the most graphically demanding games I play are CSS and CS:GO lol). My higher priority would be getting it at a less wallet-damaging price...which is the scenario you have in front of you.
