I need a new set of AirPods. Mine just don't have sufficient battery life any more - they're four years old.

Should I pull the trigger on the $89 price on AMZN for the Gen2 or wait in hopes that Apple releases something new next week?

Or third option - wait for next week and then hope I can still get the $89 price sometime soon?

Very sure they are not going to release any new AirPods next week. You could always buy now, and not unseal the packaging until after the event. If something new did come out, you can return them to Amazon hassle-free.

You probably made up your mind already, but I purchased the 2nd Generation AirPods to replace my 1st Gens recently. It was for the battery life and slowing connection speeds.

They are fantastic if you don't want the extra bells and whistles of the new generation ones and £99 or $89 is a steal.

Yeah. I bought them. No regrets. Good product. Don't need anything more.
