Buy or wait?

Hello,
In the next couple weeks its my birthday, and Im wanting to get a Macbook.
Should I get a used White Macbook straight away, or put the money away and get a refurb Alu Macbook?
Opinions.

Yes, thats whats making me lean towards the White one.


Also, if I was going to get a White one, i'd save up and get a new iMac or Mini, dunno yet.

Yeah, Although the Refurbs from Apple are a "save up for" price. I'm looking to get a Macbook for about AUD$800-900, Anything past that, and i'll have to wait and save up🙂

I don't know the exchange rate, but I think you can get that white Macbook I showed you for around 900-1000AUD.

firewire isnt important for me. but is useful. battery life, i have no care for it what so ever. although i would like to be able to say to someone i got a mbp for my birthday, that'd never happen, at a cost of AUD$1900 :|

if you can afford it, buy the MBP 13" baseline.

spending a little less to get a MacBook wouldn't be worth it - when for a little more you get everything you need and more.

i don't see why you should wait unless you just don't have the $$

Refurbed whitebook with nvidia graphics card is a heckuva little machine for the money. Relatively a bargain by apple standards.

Maybe he'll be using it primarily as a desktop, and for what he needs it for portability, doesn't require much battery?

yup. exactly. i'll only use it at school for about 90 minutes a day. the rest, it'll be sitting on my desk, or bed, plugged in.
