I think iPhone 17 is the move for most people.
Yeah, the camera limitations on the Air are pretty significant. The 17 is not a much heavier, though a slightly smaller screen. Hoping the Air form factor gets more pro features over time. I love the idea of a thin, light, but capable phone. Just maybe not yet.

Once you have it, it is really nice for facial recognition for password entry.

All the phones come with LiDAR on the front for FaceID.

It's LiDAR on the back that only the Pro models have. I know it's used for more accurate measuring, 3D modelling (which I don't do) and faster camera focussing in low light, but does it make a noticeable difference?

15 pro max to base 17 worth it? Not a big power user at all, my top apps are social media, YouTube and selfies.

currently got an iPhone 12 pro, and so tempted to get the iPhone 17 Pro, just not sure all that fancy stuff is useful to me, anyone done a spreadsheet for best prices/locations for the UK? :p if not might have to make one, think mobiles.co.uk has the best prices, its crazy how cheap they can do it,

£44.99 for 24 months +£99 up front for 100gb.

With the yearly cost increases its £1,214.76 the phone it self is £1099, its only charging 115.76 for the 100gb itself for 2 years, its a real shame its on Three, proably the third best in the area, ee/o2 joint number 1, but there costs are a lot more.

o2: £1467
Vodafone: don't ever want this, always get "edge"

Upgrading from the 12 to 17 looks like a great deal for me.
am on a 12 pro also, what one you looking at going? I keep thinking the base 17 will do fine, but then what if it can't handle 5 years like my 12 pro has done easily -.-
