Most items in the buyer's guide do have some kind of update once or twice per week, sometimes nearly every day.
It would be helpful if the OP could be a little more specific about how those guesses could be more up-to-date, or why he thinks that the whole guide is somehow outdated, when it relies on version history, plus rumors. It's a flaky combination, isn't it?
As far as the Buyer's Guide recommendations go, it's mostly automatic. We add data points when Apple releases new products, but other than that it runs by itself unless we feel the need to customize a particular entry.
Is there something in particular you think needs updating?
Ya, maybe with the next update the non-Retina version will be gone entirely and we can once again get everything under just "MacBook Pro". You're certainly not the first to have missed it.
