J&JPolangin: I'm curious as to what you'll do! (What's haswell?)

Haswell is the planned 4th generation of Intel's Core processor line that is expected to be released next year. It is supposed to bring a significant increase in CPU and graphics power, but given your usage patterns it likely won't make much difference.

...I'm liking this 13" Sandy Bridge due to the deal I got it for...now I'm leaning toward gifting it to a family member with Haswell or later comes out with an 11" MBA with similar battery life as the current 13" units!

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts! I decided that if after a week of having this magnificent 13", I am still plagued by indecision, it must be at least worth a try with the smaller size.

I ordered a refurb 11" and will return the bigger one when it arrives. I feel good about saving the money, and slightly more relaxed about the level of commitment I'm making too. I'll see how it goes!

I'm feeling the same way, except the exact reverse! Used the GF's 2010 MBA 13" for a while and very used to the size of it. Just got a 2012 11" MBA to replace my 1st gen macbook and I am finding it almost too small. For instance I had to either hide the dock on the bottom or move it to the left side, it takes up wayyy too much real estate on such a small screen. 13" MBA you never once feel the need to scootch the dock aside. Also finding some text on the small side for my tastes, which can be corrected but it's just annoying. I'll probably end up keeping it or maybe sell it in a another year and upgrade to a 2013 13" MBA. Weight wise, you won't much notice a difference. Size might be the only difference that you'll notice, but if your bag or briefcase is larger than 13" anyway it doesn't make a difference.
