I have to admit the 5 is Nice. I played with one at the Apple store and i REALLY admire that bigger screen. Have not had the chance to play around nor experience LTE (unfortunately i am a sprint subscriber but brought the 4S off contract) I am REALLY leaning towards ditching Sprint given as my ETF is only $80 and heading to ATT. But when i Really think about it, the 5 only offers me a larger screen and faster data over my 4S.

The real upgrade in this case would be the network. Sprint has such HORRIBLE 3G speeds and NO LTE in my area, meanwhile ATTs HSPA+ and LTE light up the area. besides with my school discount, ill get 19% off my monthly bill with ATT..

The only REAL thing holding me back is all the "imperfections" and the alleged purple photo issues that are currently ongoing with the 5 models today....

Decisions, Decisions.....

I upgraded from the 4S. No buyers remorse here. I love the extra screen real estate and the color saturation is amazing. The speed boost is also nice as well. I still can't get over how light it is either.

None whatsoever. I ended up with an iPhone 5 that didn't function, but after a fast swap by the Genius Bar I now have an iPhone 5 that looks flawless and works excellently. I could never go back to my 4S now that I have the 5....and having used the GS2 and seen the GS3 up close (and of course all the durability tests done on the GS3), I can't think of another phone that would be a better fit for me than the 5.

At first I wasn't sure about it, I even held off selling my 4. I loved the new screen size, weight, and speed. I was unsure about the color saturation and the camera is a little more temperamental than the 4(I think the iPhone 4 has a more forgiving camera, an the 5 may take more skill to pull off good pics in certain conditions). I think I was expecting too much and all of the changes were subtle an tool some time to sink in.

Then I spent the past few days using the 5 and my initial reservations have pretty much disappeared. I love it, I picked up my 4 and it felt like looking at a nano that weighed a lot more. The screen on the 5 is so much brighter, and I have gotten used to the colors.

Overall I think the subtle changes all add up to a massive improvement in the user experience and I am really glad I upgraded. The black is badass too.

No remorse for trying it but it might go back. Wifi doesn't work, maps is terrible, and i have keyboard issues. I don't feel that Apple deserves my money for this. The actual hardware is beautiful and fast, software sucks.

You're under 5'6 aren't you? :apple:

I have an S3 also. No. Just slightly taller at 5'8.

----------

I regret selling the 4S but do not regret buying the 5.

Yeah. I keep pushing my amazon trade in for the 4S we still own. Now we have until next Thursday to trade them in. So 7 more days to evaluate the iPhone 5.

My wife is leaning towards keeping her 4S at this point. She hasn't even touched the iPhone 5 that's still wrapped in a box sealed. She's played with mine for a few minutes here and there but her 4S is practically brand new since it has 12 months warranty left and I picked it up from guy who sold it new to us cause wife water damaged her other iPhone 4S 2 weeks ago.

With your shoes on.

Nah man. Don't lie about my height and don't round up either.

Anyways. Like I said. iPhone 5 is just a little bit taller. I've owned a galaxy nexus and S3.

Like the S3, it just seems like phones these days have reached the point where you don't have to upgrade every year.

The biggest growth in terms of tech happened in late 2009 all the way through 2011. 2012 has been more of a refinement in cell phone tech.

In late 2009 processors in phones reached 1gz. In 2010 manufacturers started improving cell phone camera quality with mass produced BSI for better low light pics. In early 2011 we started to have duo core chips along with inclusion of LTE into phones.

So both the S3 and iPhone 5 are really just refinements of S2/Gnex And iPhone 4S/4

When the Note 2 comes out and i like it, then I will be upset. BUt for me the iPhone 5 was a compromise between the Galaxy 3 and it. At least Apple's warranty is better but I really hate to have to reinstall all my (300) apps because Apple says they want me to do a DFU unless they know 100% the issue is hardware related.

When you compare hardware to hardware, there is no question the new 5 is better than the old 4s/4 in all areas.

I think the issue people is having is the functions or features of iOS 6. I don't get what people are complaining about. For once apple didn't hold back and gave all their phones features that the hardware supported. Apple could have easily held back many features.

Had Samsung provided the same update and software features to the gs2, would people still feel the same about the gs3? I mean the gs3 hardware wise isn't a huge leap forward.

Be happy apple isn't like android manufactures and support their hardware for years.

Sorry, but that mindset doesn't hold any water any more. The fact you can't appreciate people's criticism is troubling. The market is now very competitive and people have a right and expect to be more picky and demanding in features and quality. Those companies who don't understand this concept will sooner or later be left to suffer as a result.

Even if someone did have remorse, they are not likely to admit it on here. That's asking for the troll to wake up.

So what's a legit criticism? The screens too small? The phones too light? It looks similar to the 4s? That's all personal opinion but you can't sit there and say apple didn't take a big leap in the hardware.

Apple it seems has stopped listening to its customers, they are destined to repeat the 80's.

Nope. I had been considering switching to Android because I love the hardware choice and the ability to do what I want with the operating system. But then I bought the Nexus 7 in July. Android's app ecosystem is complete garbage. It alleviated all my desires to switch to Android. I might not have the best maps program (but it works), or the ability to connect my PS3 controller to my phone, or any other number of things that Android does that I would like, but I have access to the by far best (and it's not even close) app ecosystem out there. And when you think about it, 99% of your phone usage is spent in an app of some sorts...

So I got the best phone capable of running the best app store on the planet. No regrets at all.

No remorse on the phone itself. But sometimes I think I should have gone with Verizon instead of remaining with AT&T (to keep my unlimited plan). There's no LTE coverage where I live and work with AT&T but Verizon has it for both locations (although I do have 4G).

But coming from a 4, I love it! And no issues with the Maps for me so far.

For me personally the criticism is two things: the small screen and Maps. A 0.5 inch increase is not significant especially since it is not wider. I spend a LOT of time reading and browsing the web. The wife's iPad is beautiful but too big to take with everywhere, the iPhone and iPod Touch tooooooo small.

As I am not a geek (no offence to those who are) I dont know much about the hardware like it's A6 CPU and have not read the specs at the granular level. All I know it did slightly better than the Galaxy 3 and Nexus One X in tests. I am not into HD displays or in taking pictures with phone. I have my own DSLR for that. However, compared to the Samsung Galaxy that I have and what the competition has to offer. It definitely seems Apple is merely playing catchup with the competition instead of leaping forward significantly.

The phone is amazing, you shouldn't feel that way.

I havent upgraded from my 4s yet but my brother and mother already have. Black and White, White looks awesome this year and the screen reminds me of the vividness of my 3G with the retina of the 4/4s.

Its an awesome package but not much has changed apart from screen and speed over the 4s. LTE a non starter as the UK networks dont have it yet.

Yeah we dont have Lte or 4g in the Uk and when we do catch up with this at the end of the year, start of 2013 the current iphone 5's wont run it.

So anyone wanting this faster internet usage will have to pay some form of upgrade fee for a newer iphone 5.

And if your not on a unlimited data package one would seriously need to look at beefing their data package up.

Im reading more and more threads from our friends across the pond who are saying Lte sucks battery alarmingly, and data usage is greatly increased.

i sold my iphone 4 16gb for $300 and bought an iphone 5 32gb for $300.

no remorse here :D

Yep

Yep noticing the home button is quite loud and stiff compared to the 4, screen is just still a bit annoyingly small for games because there was not width increase. Now the speaker, definite improvement
Also leaves a bad taste in the mouth or a stain on the conscience when you hear about the Foxconn workers getting beaten and the suicides
Also not sure if I like how it feels, so may return it

I love it, I think its an incredible device.

Unfortunately Ive taken a bashing from the android gang and cant get through a day without hearing "oh have you heard the new phones are coming damaged?" or "did you read about apple maps?".

Im not the type to bite but any mention of it performing better in benchmarks, droptests, or screen quality and they look away like they dont want to hear anything positive lol

Proof the iPhone is still top of its game :D

No regrets at all. This is my first iPhone, have wanted one for years, so I'm stupidly satisfied with it. Granted, it's different from what I'm used to on my Droid X, but there's nothing that is SO different that I'm missing my old phone. Absolutely love the 5.
