Buying a MacBook Pro for my girlfriend, Help

Persuaded my girlfriend to move over to mac from her prehistoric windows laptop.

Found a 2010 MBP 13" running OS X 19.9.2 specs as follows;

2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo
4gb 1067 MHz DDR3

for £350

I know this is probably expensive to those not in UK, but for people in the UK does this seem like a sensible price for this model?

Any advice on what to check on the laptop before i buy i.e. run a dvd and usb etc
