Hi,

I want to buy the new macbook pro 15 inch.
The thing is I'm currently a student outside the US and I know that doesn't count in order to get the Education pricing.

I have a friend which is going to New York this week and I want to order the macbook and choose the Pick Up option and set my friends name to pick it up.

What are the chances they are going to ask him for any documents to proove that the owner is a student?
What is the worse case?

Thanks

Bollocks, show your student ID and you are good. It doesn't have to be from a US institution Apple offers that discount worldwide.

Ya but I'm planning on buying it in the US.

And? Apple doesn't care, as long as you are a legitimate education user where you are from. ;)

We have plenty of international visiting grad students who can still get the discount in Canada even if they are from Europe or elsewhere.

Well I just chated with Apple US and they told me that you to be enrolled in a US college or uni in order to get the discount.

THe thing is that if I send a friend to pick it up for me they said that he wont need to show any prove and if needed they will contact me afterwards to ask for that information. What are the chances they really are going to contact me? and what can they do if they figger out afterwards that I am not really a US student.

Just order online from the student store. Enter a design institution (PM me I'll give you one) and it will come in with a $200 discount.

You can also try Best Buy and show them your student ID. If they deny you just say where does it say it requires US institution ID?

Hope this helps.
