I agree. Looking at stocks of previous imacs on websites (UK ones) the 21inch went out of stock much before the 27inch did, and most people I know with imacs have the smaller version. Us on the forums are of a different breed to most, power users, interested in computers, and such many will go for the 27. Myself coming from a 15inch mbp, 21.5 will do me just fine :)

Perhaps the people on this forum are not a representative sample of the population. ;)

27" [if they ever come out]

;)I Am Guessing Around $3200 - $3400, as long as you don't go for 768GB SSD

Going with:
27" 3.4GHz quad-core Intel core I7 with 8MB L3 cache
8GB Ram
Upgrade to 32GB 1600MHz DDR3 from OWC for =+$200.
3TB 7200rpm Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX Graphic processor with 2GB of GDDR5 memory
AppleCare Protection Plan
Samsung SE-506AB Slim Portable Blu-ray Writer =+$89.

Just a Guess like every one Else. The 768GB SSD may bring it over $4400.

Have a Great day

Hope they come out soon!!!!!

27 incher all the way. With the 3.4 processor and the 680 MX card. I might even stick 32 gigs of RAM in it since it's cheap as hell, and I plan to play The Old Republic on it via Parallels and I hear the virtual machine eats a lot of memory (if I'm wrong on that fine, but that's what I've heard people say). I'm still on the fence about the RAM, I may just roll with 16 (self installed of course).

Err....I hope you know not to extrapolate outside your sample. MacRumors contributors are probably the least price-sensitive market faced by Apple.

If I had to make a guess, the 21.5 outsells the 27 at least 3/1. But it's a guess. Any former Apple employees with actual data?

Ive been waiting and saving to make the switch to iMac for well over a year. Ive been jonesing so bad that I almost rather get an older model but i know i will regret it . I originally wanter the 27 inch but the savings of buying a 21 is appealing to me but the fact that I cant get access to upgrade on my own Im back on the 27 inch bandwagon. the delay will only gimme time to save more loot although I WANT MY iMAC NOW!
