iPod touch buying a new ipod touch

i wanna replace my old 8gb ipod touch 1G with a newer itouch but was wondering on this:

1). buy a new $300 ipod touch 16gb 2G

or

2). wait until september to see if they release a new ipod touch


i'm looking on spending around $300.

Yep, September's not that far away now. I'd look at selling your 1G now to maximise its resell value.

Definitely wait. I have been without a touch screen ipod for a while now. If you really need music i would just get a cheap ipod off CL or something to last for a month. Thats what I did.
Also for the money you want to spend, after the update you will probably get double the capacity.

You'll regret a purchase of a 2nd gen today when the 3rd gen shows up. even if it doesn't have a camera built in it will still be an improvement over the current model, and likely cheaper.

Wait a month, and you'll be much more satisfied. No point buying now, you'll just be disappointed when the new one comes out.
