So I'm planning on buying a used ATT iPhone 5 off of craigslist, and i've been reading on how some people sell their iPhones to people and later on blacklisting it, screwing the buyer over, or how people are mistakenly buying already blacklisted iPhones. I was wondering if there's a way I can prevent this? I was thinking of meeting at an ATT store to make sure it's not blacklisted and to make sure it's not connected to any account that could black list it. Would that be a good idea?

its good to have a used iphone 5 but you must check it appropriately all its features such as it comes with a 7.6 mm thin and just 112 grms weighed body, iPhone 5 has 4-inches Ratina screen display & provides you 18 % more pixels for an amazing 1136 X 640 quality, iPhone 5 is nearly 9 mm higher than iPhone 4S, but it is the same size.

Always risks with doing this type of transaction. I recommend going here to check the warranty status with Apple:

After you buy the phone, call AppleCare and update the owner contact info to you. And then quickly contact AT&T and add the phone into your cellular account.

Prior to purchasing, you should fully inspect the phone for damage including liquid damage:

Lastly, write up a bill of sale receipt. Collect the sellers contact info, make copy of drivers license number, and have him/her sign the receipt stating that he/she agrees that the phone is in the said conditions stated in the bill of sale.

Bill of sale is a great idea. Although I have tried it, most people are not comfortable with their drivers license being copied.
