I've only recently learned about this iCloud lock feature and I'm wondering how this could affect buying a used MacBook Pro. If I were to buy one fair and square (i.e. not stolen, etc...) and yet the original owner still had it associated to his iCloud account, could he not theoretically lock me out whenever he wanted? Or would there be a way for me to disassociate the MBP from his iCloud account and link it up to mine?

In OS X System Preferences->iCloud pane you can have find, lock or erase.
