Buying a watch via borderlinx, now it's lost.

I have talked about this in the UK order thread but I might as well bring it up in a new one. I've heard good things about Borderlinx from friends buying iPhones from the UK to Sweden before they are released here, which is the case with may Apple Products. My case might be different. It might be good to know how their customer service will handled my case to see how its resolved if things go wrong.

The 28th of April i placed an order: Apple Watch Sport 38mm Silver Aluminium Case with White Sport Band it shipped the 30th and arrived the 1st of May at the Borderlinx depot.

Borderlinx uses DHL and it was shipped the 5th of may due to the Bank holiday in the UK.

When my package was sent from DHL in the UK i received a text where I could select to pick up my parsel at my local DHL agent. Or have it delivered to my home during 8-5pm I selected having it delivered to my local DHL agent.

So for the most of the day i have been checking the status of my package, it said out with a courier for the most of the day until around 4:45 pm. where it said "delivered signed for by (not my name) nor anyone in this apartment building.

DHL is investigating this now obviously they ******* up. Hopefully its something that can be solved and I can get my Package, If not hopefully Borderlinx will live up to their part since i did pay 10 pounds for insurance.

They have advised me to wait two business days before we can do more with my lost package.

Hmmmm. Not sure there, hope they sort it out!
 
Do not wait! Take actions now. Do you think your package will just show up like this?

If in the system is a signature that means that somebody has it and that one is not DHL.

I went over to them and had a chat. They haven't received a package.

Only chance is that the office of my land lord claimed the package, they do have the same Adress. I have no Idea if someone named that works at the office.

The last name is quite common in Sweden, Larsson I've checked with two Larssons in the building but nope.

I have taken action, I have contacted DHL and they are investigating it. Not much more I can do.
 
I really hope you get it sorted out if not the insurance of the package should cover it for you. Keep us posted so we know what action to take if something similar were to happen in the future.
 
I hate DHL.

I got shipped an expensive jacket, and was marked as "delivered". I called for three days following that, and they didn't know where it was. Some jack@$$ suggested it was stolen, while I assured him it wasn't possible in my neighborhood.

On the 4th day, I called again and the guy was actually able to locate my package. It was back in the warehouse after being on a delivery truck all day, aka still not delivered. He couldn't tell me why it went back to th warehouse.

5 days after being "delivered", it shows up. The box was opened and looks like it had a poor re-taping job. So shady. I will never use DHL again, they literally cannot keep track of their packages and are unable to explain delays. Buncha amateurs.

Good luck with your watch. I have felt your pain!
 
This is clearly DHLs fault it's going to be interesting to see what they have to say for themselves tomorrow.

When I got my iPad gen 1 via eBay. something similar happened. But at that point it was at the depot. As if they skipped delivery to the agent and took it back. I took a taxi over to the depot and claimed my package.

So the options are

1: some one at the landlord office claimed the package.

2 DHL made some mistake and the package is in limbo. And I can get it back after a few days

3 some lucky person just got an Apple Watch

Somehow options 1 and 2 seems like wishful thinking right now.

I'd call the landlord and ask for the package. That is probably your best bet. The strange part is that when I received my package today, DHL Express, the courier asked for my first and last name before asking me to sign the delivery.

So if the courier wasn't sloppy then this shouldn't have happened.
 
Have you shared a screenshot on your order on 99mac.se? Reddit? Here on macrumors? OR on the socialmedias? And might on that screenshot the trackingnumber was included? Happend to a guy in US i saw on some reddit thread for some week ago.

I think I did a screencap of the first order but I don't think I got around posting it but the order number was censored and no tracking ID was available at that time. However it shouldn't matter since the one from Apple becomes delivered to the borderlix depot and then they use DHL where as Apple used UPS. the DHL Info I haven't shared with anyone.

Time for some sleep and I'll post again tomorrow.
 
Just called the Landlord Office nobody with that name works there.
DHL is trying to reach the courier handeling my package.

Next step is for me to call the police. I took a screen shot of the watch on my support profile so I have the serial number.
 
I hate borderlinx!

3 packages from apple ordered through BL.

1 took months to ship to sweden, 1 was lost and i never got any compensation, 1 arrived timely, but the package inside was ripped open and the iphone was full of fingerprints and the sim tray was damaged/bent.

Spent months arguing with them all the way to the CEO and they all basically said screw you!
 
I've heard from DHL now. The package was scanned wrongly as delivered. Now they are trying to deliver it to my home again. Their goal is to get it delivered to the agent today tomorrow latest.

It's not over yet but I feel relieved.

Thankfully it's Thursday today so if I get it Friday I have the weekend to play with it.

But DHL a company who's founder has been lost for 20 years shouldn't be trustworthy.

More likely they knew they weren't going to be able to deliver it on the day, and opted to fake the scan so their stats weren't messed up ;).

Random: I keep looking through the forum topic list and seeing this thread. I immediately misread "buying a watch via Bordeaux..." And it makes me want a glass of wine. :)
 
I have it now!

I was headed for a meeting after work I had to unbox in a cafe and give my iPhone some charge to get the pairing done. Will play more over the weekend.

Btw borderlinx sent an inquiry to DHL UK that the guy I spoke with at DHL Sweden had to reply to.
Feels good to know that I wasn't on my own :)

Regarding wine. Yea I might have some because I could need it. :)

So, was your package fine or ripped open?
