Buying AppleCare for Third Party bought Macbook

    I plan on buying a Macbook Pro 2017 from a third party such as Ebay. I asked was the warranty still active and the owner told me it was so sonce the 1 year warranty is still active can I purchase apple care for the product?

    Yes, but if it were me I would ask for the serial number and check it at Apple here,

    Just make sure it's Apple's warranty that's active. Some sellers provide their own "warranty"

    Think it needs to be within first 30 days after original purchase

    Nope, AppleCare can be bought for up to 1 year after purchase. AppleCare+ only for the (I think) 90 days after purchase, you might be thinking of that.
