If I buy a Apple TV in the USA and bring it back with me will I need to get a new plug as it will only have a two pin plug and what do I do if it goes wrong, will I have a guarantee still?

This question has been asked 100 times.
You will need to buy another cable, but your AppleTV will also work in UK.
Regarding warranty, it is no longer global, o if you have a problem, it would not be serviced for free in UK, unless you buy AppleCare.

Would they know it was not UK bought though? I guess they could check by the serial number.

    Stupid exchange rates

3 earth minutes from your location....
Survey says: "Wrong". Just get Apple Care and you are taken care of. Yes, they know about the serial numbers and can check the origin. Don't try to game the system (if you are), and get the Apple Care. You might want to get a Mac Mini though. I sold my ATV and got the Mini. Much more robust.

I'm in the UK and bought an AppleTV in the US in October. It works fine and I have just used a continental adaptor to plug the US plug into the UK socket. I propse to by Applecare just in case things go wrong.

Buying AppleTV in USA for UK use

I picked one up in the US and just changed the US two pin cable to a UK one (the AppleTV's voltage is universal, just changed the cable) and it works fine.

You don't need an adaptor, just change the cable. Same for Airport Express and Extreme's and MacBooks
