Buying Apps on iPhone 4 (iOS 5); automatically download in iTunes?

Maybe i'm mistaken, however when I buy an App in iTunes it automatically downloads to my iPhone 4, but the reverse of that is not happening -- is that the case or did i forget to mark a specific setting in iCloud or in Lion?

In [iTunes - Preferences - Store] make sure that the Automatic Downloads boxes are checked
