I need an App to merge videos. They all cost. How can I decide which is best for my needs without buying or what can I do if the App is not suitable

First...what's wrong with iMovie? It's able to merge videos together.
Apple usually will give you a refund if the app is buggy or if it doesn't do what it claims to do.
