im just curious if buying a macbook online vs at the store makes a difference in the way applecare treats you?

i recently purchased a macbook at a store, and after calling applecare about the power adapter sizzle and fan moo, they just told me to go to the store and have a genius look at it. but from the many posts ive read, some people were able to have applecare 1) ship them a replacement macbook, 2) confirm that something was wrong with the moo/sizzle, or 3) get a full refund with out much hassle.

from what ive read, it seems like those who had purchased their macbooks online got better service from applecare, while i only got a "sorry, cant help you. go to a store" reply.

im asking this because after going through a lot of hassle to return my mooing/sizzling macbook, i would like to purchase another one in hopes that if this one moos/sizzles, that i can have an easier time getting it replaced/returned.

thanks!
chris

Nope. It's just your luck-- whomever you happen to speak to either via phone support (AppleCare) or in-store (Genius).
