If I'm trading in my iPhone 12 Pro Max, at the time of purchase, does Apple charge me the full price of the new phone or only the difference?

yea im thinking full price then they refund you the difference once they receive the phone

Anyone know if I can take my trade to an apple store? I’d like to hand it someone who can inspect it in front of me and then issue me my credit.

Too many horror stories of people sending in perfect phones, only to be told it doesn’t work.

IIRC, when buying iPhone on Apple Card installment plan, you only pay the difference, not the full price.

In all other cases, you pay in full, then are refunded in the form of a gift card.
Is it a gift card? Website makes it read like they return the trade in value of the phone via your original payment method.

I just pre pre ordered! The "pre auth" feature Apple just turned on. In your receipt, it says exactly how much you're charged.

Are we able to trade in a paid off phone during the iphone upgrade plane process to lower our monthly payments? Or is that only possible using the Apple Card payment option?

So I owe 686 on my 12pro max, 128gb. I have been paying installments with my Apple Card. If I trade it in towards the 13pro max how does that work?

If you take your trade-in to a Apple store, they'll check it there and automatically deduct the price at the register. If you ship it, you'll have to pay full price, once they approve you trade-in, they'll refund you the differece back to your original payment.

I have traded in devices with Apple via mail on many occasions and have never had any acceptance issues. Make sure you keep your shipping receipt and take pics of your device beforehand if you’re nervous. It’s so easy swapping out through mail-in!
