Buying iPhone 4 back glass from Apple

Does anyone know if Apple will just sell you the back glass or do they require to install it as well?

I was wanting to get one to take the black paint off and have a transparent back.

I'm pretty sure Apple will not sell the back glass without installing it. You should call them and ask. Let us know what they say.😎

Or what if you brought it in without a back and said you dropped it and shattered it?

Even if you shattered it, how would it come off? They would think you took it off

If you want a transparent back it will be easier to just buy an aftermarket part of eBay or similar. I just bought a Brushed metal back replacement of eBay and it's perfect. I didn't even need a screwdriver, I just used the pointy end of a sharp knife to undo and tighten the screws.
