I want to get the 128GB model as it's always best since I have lots of music to put on it. 16GB (12GB in reality) is too small for my needs. Thoughts?

You answered your own question. 16gb is too small for your needs so get either 64 or 128gb.

Is it best to get the highest storage you can? My 5S 16GB (which is only 12GB) in reality is full... I want to upgrade to the highest amount of storage and put lots of music on it. Is 128GB the best? I have a 128GB iPad which is serving me well.

As much as you can afford is the best.
True. I agree. 128GB (which is about 115GB) is better than buying a 16GB (really 12GB) phone and needing the extra space. Since you can't upgrade post-purchase.

There's no right size for everyone. If you want to get 128GB, go ahead. Many people are fine with 64GB, too. Depends how much stuff you have on your phone. Videos take a lot more space than photos, which take a lot more space than text messages and e-mails.

How much space do you have used on your iPad? Why do both your threads seem like you think the only options are 16 or 128?

If your 128GB iPad is serving you well, the 128GB iPhone will serve you even better, lol. Get the 128GB model. I don't think you'll regret it.

i got 16 gigs and i dont have problem with it. everything is in the cloud.

1. Photos and videos, i use google photos, so no hard copy of photos in videos on my camera roll. and the most important thing of google photos is i can switch device to android and boom, all photos are synced, or i can sometimes miss my 5s, switch simcard, boom, all photos and videos are accessible in 5s.

2. music, i use apple music, but will switch to rdio because it's dirt cheap. and i only put 30-50 offline songs from my itunes in a playlist called "Current Listening". i choose some songs that i currently like and sync it from itunes to my iphone. you dont need a freakin 3000 songs in your pocket don't you?

3. games, this is relative. i do games on PC, so i only have light games in my iphone which is rarely have size more than 100mb each. games like space age, clash of clans, bitcoin billionaire. who needs 2gb of games like final fantasy 7 and nba2k16 while i can experience it better on my PC.

but i believe, the 64gb is the most value in price/storage capacity. i just dont have the budget for 64.

If you take tons of pictures, or are one of those people who never downloads their vacation pictures to a computer - then get as much storage as you can.

Get the one that you can afford that fits in your budget range. But spending an extra 100 bucks won't hurt it. I'd say "Go Big or Go Home!"

Get 128 GB. I had lots of music and pictures. With just the music alone, I'd have like 2 gigs left (Keep in mind, with 16 GB, you don't even really get 16 GB). Pictures wouldn't have all made it on. Forget about Apps.

I got the 128 GB this time. It's a complete relief. The phone started with 113 GB and I'm now at 88 GB, and that's with having just about every app I'll need, pictures I need, and music I probably won't even listen to on it.

It will take serious effort to get down to even 50 GB left. I expect to have plenty of room to spare by the time the 7S Plus is here.

Not at all. He wants to get the 128, to be safe. I say to do it. Even by my own standards, up there, I love the idea that It would take a lot of effort, on my part, to get anywhere close to filling things up. Never know what I might end up doing on there.

As far as storage, I learned my lesson with my first iPad. I went with the 16 GB and I regretted it immediately. I now Max out on storage.
The reason I can't get my first MacBook Pro just now is because I'm planning on maxing out on storage and RAM.
I always future proof as much as possible.
