I am in Geneva on holiday and thinking of buying iPhone 17 from official Apple Store there
Will Applecarre cover me in UK
Will the new phone function normally like one bought from Apple UK
Will keyboard be same as UK especially layout and symbols

If so I may buy here as I believe there is a reduction from tax
in Switzerland but only worth it to me if phone works like UK one

Please advise

Usually it’s limited to the country of purchase.
And be aware of customs if you keep the packaging when entering UK.
Software is the same

While Apple’s 1-year warranty is restricted to the country of purchase, AppleCare+ is valid around the world. If you purchased AC+ in Switzerland, it’d be valid in the UK. I’m not sure if there are any restrictions on the total number of claims outside the country of purchase.

With the exception of a some carrier-specific features, the phone itself should work without any issues.
Go to iPhone tech specs page and compare the bands supported on each country’s models and you should be able to tell which features you could be missing out on from that.

The Terms & Conditions state that “Apple may restrict Hardware Service and ADH Services to the country where the Covered Equipment was originally purchased.”

Chances are they WON’T restrict it like that. But if they do, you’d be SOL.

They are selling the same Model in CH as in the UK. There should be no problem with the Warranty. Normally it is only complicated if you are getting one from the US which is selling a different Version of the phone.

Tell them in the AppleStore that you will export the Device. They will give you a paper from which you will get the 8.1% Tax back which you need to stamp at the boarder. I don`t know how this works in the UK but I guess you have to pay import taxes there.
