    can you buy an iphone at the apple store without having to sign up for a contract or activate in store?

    if u pay the no contract price, u don't have to worry about AT&T charging you $199 in your first bill?:confused:

    Why would they charge you $199 for a phone you already own?

    You have to be an AT&T customer to buy an iPhone period. No exceptions. It doesn't matter what the price. The no-contract price is for current AT&T customer only.
