iPod Buying iPod classic 4th or 5th gen. (wondering about iTunes compatibility)

I am looking for an iPod classic 4th or 5th generation and am wondering if I will be able to sync my music via USB with the latest version of iTunes (iTunes 12)

Does this work??

The 5th gen syncs fine. Don't think Apple would break compatibility on any iPod.
