I know Apple has just released 1.1.5 for those that don't want to update to 2.0, but will 2.0 be on the the Touch? And if it isn't, should/will Apple upgrade for free since the Touch is purchased after the 2.0 release?

There's no indication that Apple plans on doing this. From what anyone can tell right now the update is entirely optional and new iPods will come with the 1.1.5 firmware.

If they were gonna give free upgrades to 2,0, they most likely would not have bothered to release 1,1,5.

I understand that. But 1.1.5 was released for those that already have a Touch and do not want to update. I am asking about a brand new Touch purchased after the 2.0 release.

Seems like it would be smart of Apple to do a 'drop-in' of 2.0 or have it loaded for new Touches. I don't want to hear about people complaining about $10, but it's bound to happen.

I personally think the additional $10 is worth it and acceptable, but others won't.

I bought a touch on the 11th (day of 2.0) and it came without 2.0. I don't think 2.0 will be like the January upgrade, as in I don't think it'll come standard on iPod Touches anytime soon. Maybe with the next revision.
