Could be so cheap since it's generic. PayPal is really good with refunding money if product doesn't arrive as listed or if the seller is fraudulent. So you should be fine either way.
The guy does LOTS of business and has a 99%+ rating. So if you are not happy, you lost 3 lousy bux. In the annal of human endeavors, I say this is a LOW RISK gamble.
Most likely though, the quality of a $3 item not comparable to a more expensive. But then again, 3 lousy buxs.

Not a scam. I've purchased a few before, from this very same seller (one in black and white). They may not be the same exact ones from the stores but they're legit. Decent quality.

I have the same one but clear, but I think mine was $2.49, the blue ones must be more expensive. I'd hold out for a better deal...😀
'Chinese' skins are decent, but not as good as Moshi ones (that are overpriced) I have one on my MacBook pro, it saved me from spills and a LOT of dust.
If you live in Europe/USA/UK buy from Amazon. Elsewhere, buy from eBay.
It's been exactly two weeks since I bought this and i got and email saying my order would arrive between Nov. 12-Nov. 19. It will be Nov 21 tomorrow, should I be worried ?
