Buying movies on Apple TV

are the DVD special features and deleted scenes included with a digital purchase? Apologies if this has been asked before.

The ones I've bought have included them. I believe it tells you in the description.

Some movies do some don’t, the vast majority do, some also include Director’s Cuts.
Just have a look in the store listings, it’ll mention iTunes Extras if it has.
Now this does also of course all depend on what device you’re using.
iTunes Extras are not available on the 3rd party devices with the ATV App, you’ll only find iTunes Extras available on Apple devices.

Some include better/more special features than the disc-based releases. Apple did a really great job with this, IMO.
