How do I now manage to wait till 22nd August without exploding?

Congrats :)

Speaking from personal experience, reading Macrumors just worsens it. Go out, buy a few boxes of NyQuil and sleep the wait away...

i also just joined macrumors today and also just ordered my 15 inch macbook pro today! i waited until after wwdc and since there were no upgrades announced i wasted no time in putting in my order. even if they come out with something next month, it really wouldn't make much difference to what i plan to do with my mac. although it is not my first mac, it may as well be as the last time i used one was 10 years ago. the os has changed tremendously since then. i also opted for a 7200rpm hard drive based on my friend's recommendation and the glossy screen. i also decided to upgrade the ram myself as an extra us$300 for 1gb ram is insane. i live in hong kong and we can get parts really cheap. i can get 1gb of ram for less than a third of that.

anyway suzuki, hope you enjoy your macbook pro. i know i will!

Congrats and welcome back, make sure that cheap RAM is really top quality stuff, Macs are notoriously picky about what RAM they will and won't accept. Get it from a reputable dealer and generic cheap stuff probably won't work.

the dealer i spoke to was referring to kingston memory. that should be acceptable no? if not, there are loads of places offering alternatives for around US$80 - US$100...1gb ram.

Thank you for your comments! I'm looking forward to getting it so much. I'm certain I will love it. :)

I wonder how many other people have also done exactly what we have done, and also bought the same spec? haha!

Apple emailed me today to tell me that my MacBook Pro has been despached! :D

\o/

Should hopefully have it Monday or Tuesday next week then I guess?
